Temporary Inpatient Hospice and Respite Care
There are times when inpatient hospice care in a hospital, or skilled nursing facility, is required temporarily to control severe pain and symptoms, with the goal being to return the patient to their home and familiar surroundings. Angels Grace Hospice & Palliative Care provides compassionate hospice care during short-term inpatient stays.
Respite care is another level of hospice care for short term, hospice care to relieve family members or primary caregivers. Respite hospice care is helpful to families when caregivers need to take a vacation or just need help. Caregivers can feel overwhelmed when caring for a loved one with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or any terminal illness and forgo their own personal wellness.
Families and caregivers should take advantage of receiving skilled hospice respite care whenever possible with Medicare covering up to five consecutive days on an occasional basis. Respite care can be provided in the home or at an inpatient facility.
