One of her favorite things to do is to talk about hospice to groups of any size. She has been with Angels Grace for seven years and knows hospice (and us) well.
She has told me that quite often people are surprised after hearing her speak. They think her talk is going to be depressing and instead when they hear about minimizing pain, fear, and embarrassment they are relieved to find out there’s a solution and that there are trained (and loving) professionals who know how to work towards a dignified, peaceful death – for the patient AND the family.
She says people’s two most frequent comments are, “I had no idea that there were all these services available for free. Hospice sounds wonderful!” and “I wish we had known about hospice sooner, but when we did find it, it made all the difference and was a BLESSING.”
